Want to get to TCAF? Here’s everything you need to know!
TCAF IS FREE
All TCAF events are free to attend and do not require tickets or charges unless otherwise specified. General exceptions to this rule have been related musical events and our Friday night launch, which have required tickets and/or admission charges.
We want to break down the barriers between comics and the general public, and ensure any money that our attendees spend goes into the pockets of the hardworking authors, artists, and publishers exhibiting at TCAF. If you don’t see a prominently-listed price on a TCAF event, there isn’t one.

Flying into Toronto through Lester B. Pearson Airport, YYZ:
Most flights into Toronto will go through Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Code YYZ. This is considered to be one of the priciest airports to fly through in North America.
Downtown Toronto and the main festival location are approximately 25 minutes drive from the airport in light traffic, or up to 45 minutes during rush-hour. A cab ride from the airport will usually run $50-$60, and can be negotiated ahead of time. For information on taking inexpensive public transit from Lester B. Pearson Airport to Downtown Toronto, please visit http://www3.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Airport_service.jsp.
Alternate Flight Arrangements for Toronto:
Porter Airlines: Are you flying from New York, Boston, Chicago, Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City, or Ottawa? Consider flying with Porter Airlines, a new commuter airline service with a terminal right in the city-center! It’s a great, inexpensive, and easy flight alternative! We recommend it. Visit flyporter.ca for more information.
Buffalo, NY: Many U.S. airlines offer cut-rate flights to Buffalo, NY. Buffalo is only a 1.5 hour drive from Toronto, Canada, and a ground crossing is usually much easier, customs-wise, than an airport crossing. Consider flying into Buffalo airport (BUF) and renting a car or carpooling into Toronto. One-way car rentals are available from airport rental agencies, and having a car in Toronto to sightsee might be a great idea for your trip!
Public Transit in Toronto
Transit in the city of Toronto is called The TTC, and is comprised of buses, streetcars, and subways. A one-way fare is $3.00. You can find information on the TTC at http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/.
For information on TTC service to-and-from the airport at http://www3.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Airport_service.jsp.
The TTC is really easy to use, and we recommend it for folks coming in from out of town. It is less intimidating than you think!
The closest TTC station to Toronto Reference Library is BLOOR/YONGE STATION, on both the Bloor and Yonge subway lines. It is 5 minutes walk from this subway station to Toronto Reference Library.
