Oliver East is a cartoonist from Manchester, UK.  His books include the Ignatz nominated Trains Are…Mint and Swear Down, Berlin And That and The Homesick Truant’s Cumbrian Yarn. He is published by Blank Slate Books.

Oliver East will be showing sketches and pages from his forthcoming book, Take Me Back To Manchester. For this project Oliver walked some 200 miles from Waverley Station Edinburgh to Manchester, following exactly the route taken by elephant Maharajah and his keeper Lorenzo Lawrence in 1872. Oliver’s journey is the subject of a specially commissioned film by Dom Bush and Simon Sylvester, premiering at TCAF!
