TCAF is one of the largest independent comic arts fests in the world, and it takes an incredible team to make it happen. The 2025 Festival happens June 7 & 8 at TMU’s Mattamy Athletic Centre. Get to know the people who are working hard to bring this year's festival to life!
1. Our fearless leader! Amie Wright is a comics librarian and public historian based in Ontario who's been organizing comics programming in Canada and the United States since 2013. Learn more about Amie here, or follow her on Bluesky.
2. Ho Che Anderson brings his deep knowledge and love of comics to his role as our General Programming Artistic Curator. He's a Toronto-based author of numerous graphic novels, including King, a biography of Martin Luther King, and the sci-fi action adventure, Godhead. Follow him on Instagram.
3. Our Assistant Festival Producer MJ Lyons has been working as a writer, journalist and game dev for more than a decade, providing storytelling, communications and marketing expertise to clients ranging from Canada's Walk of Fame to a sleep app to an award-winning indie game studio. Follow MJ on Bluesky.
4. Manager of Marketing & Communications Kate Fane is a writer, organizer, and communications specialist who works with nonprofits and progressive political campaigns. She previously co-managed the Jane's Walk Toronto Festival, and is now thrilled to be back for her 2nd year at TCAF! Follow Kate on Bluesky.
5. Festival Administrator Mandy Folsom keeps our exhibitors informed and is basically responsible for the whole fest running smoothly. Mandy’s also a talented artist and illustrator - follow Mandy on Bluesky or visit www.mandy-arts.com
6. Do we have enough folding chairs? Is that sign level? How will we fit 28,000 comics fans into a hockey arena? These are breezy q’s for our longtime Production Manager Jalen Innis, who manages arts events across the city.
7. When not attending to his cats, Digital Experience Manager Aaron King ensures TCAF’s web properties are accessible + intuitive for guests, exhibitors, and volunteers.
8. TCAF's amazing offsite programming comes courtesy of Faduma Gure, a curator, arts organizer, and the founder of The Black Nerds—a production company and film club celebrating Black stories, creators and communities in cinema, gaming, art and more.
9. TCAF couldn’t run without our incredible volunteers. Behind them is our powerhouse Volunteer Coordination team of Claire + Hannah! Watch this space: we’ll be posting our volunteer sign-up form for TCAF 2025 soon.
