The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is hiring for two support positions within the festival!
We will be accepting applications until December 9, 2022, with interviews scheduled for the week of December 12-16. These positions will start with the Festival in the new year.

Festival Administrator
The Festival Administrator is a lead position of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF). They are responsible for working with all artists attending TCAF to ensure that they have a positive and productive experience with the Festival. This position is part administrative, part customer service, and part logistical coordination.
The Festival Administrator reports to both the Executive Director and the Festival Producer , and will work closely with the entire Festival staff. General duties include facilitating communication with TCAF’s exhibitors, company management for all the Festival’s guests, and supporting the Executive Director with general correspondence and scheduling
The Festival Administrator will need to work at least 5 hours per week during business hours, though these hours will ramp up at key moments in the festival timeline. We expect that you would work approximately 5-10 hours per week consistently before the festival, ramping up to full time during the final weeks leading up to the Festival.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all communications with TCAF exhibitors
Manage exhibitor admin, including fees, floorplanning, etc
Communicate with other departments about exhibitor needs (Production, Marketing, etc)
Manage hospitality and events for guests of the festival (hotel and flight bookings, airport pick ups, schedule communication, etc)
Manage scheduling and correspondence
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication & record keeping skills
- Proven project management skills and experience
- Detail-oriented, team-player, and able to work under multiple deadlines
- Command of contemporary diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts, paradigms and issues highly desirable, including, but not limited to, anti-oppression and intersectional approaches
- Fluency in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets) MS Office, and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of Comics and publishing industry a plus
Contractor, on a 6-month contract. December 2022 - May 2022
Compensation: $5,000
Volunteer Co-Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator is a team position of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF). They are responsible for TCAF’s volunteer program, including recruitment, scheduling, and day-to-day management of the volunteer team. This position supports the Festival’s activities over the course of the in-person weekend at Toronto Reference Library and additional lead-up and satellite events to ensure that the festival is a positive and welcoming experience to all attendees.
The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Event Producer, and will work closely with the entire Festival staff but in particular our current Volunteer Co-Coordinator.
The Volunteer Coordinator is an honorarium position and will work flexibly leading up to the Festival. We expect that you would work a maximum of 5 hours a week before the Festival, with more activity once we move into the final weeks before the event.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all communications with TCAF volunteers
Develop and execute volunteer recruitment
Communicate with other departments about their volunteer needs (Production, Marketing, etc)
Oversee volunteer training leading up to the festival.
Manage hospitality and events for volunteers before, after, and during the Festival
Develop the volunteer schedule for the event, and continue to oversee it throughout the Festival.
