As we head into Valentine’s Day, it’s nice to feel loved—and you all showed us a lot of love this year!
So much love that we have LOADS of exhibitor applications to evaluate (which is a good problem to have.).
If you applied to exhibit at TCAF, you’ll receive an email by Friday, February 21 letting you know the status of your application.
Have questions? We have started a TCAF Exhibitor FAQs post on our website.
Please (please!) check this post first with any questions!
We will be adding it between now and the festival with information for approved exhibitors and waitlisted exhibitors.
*In years past, our announcements have occasionally gone into spam folders. PLEASE check your spam tab on February 21!
Don’t forget to send us your programming ideas!
Passionate about comics? Odds are, you could suggest an amazing TCAF program.
Every year, we invite the general public (that’s you!) to share your ideas for panels, workshops, and activities to animate our festival. Participants may be eligible for honorariums depending on the type of program.
Our application deadline is Friday, February 21. Apply away!
Need inspiration? Here’s some past programming ideas (including some recent ones from 2024) near and dear to our heart:
Ask A (Comics) Librarian! Hear from real-life comics librarians from Canada and the US on what comics librarianship looks like and how it can help bolster comics sales and growth. Plus, what titles comics librarians are reading and recommending - and whether they really shush people.
Breaking The Distributor Chains: Crowdfunding & Self-Published Comics: Hear from comic creators about the tools they are using for self publishing and crowdfunding and why they are turning to self publishing works.
Comics for All, Comics from Everywhere: In this spotlight panel featured comic creators, publishers, comic librarians and educators, we will discuss the range of international titles available for schools and libraries
Graphic Medicine is Contagious: There are now hundreds of books and numerous conferences. Where is the Graphic Medicine movement headed?
The Joy & Pain of Parenthood in Comics: Comics have a unique ability to speak to the big and small moments of raising little ones. Cartoonist Lara Antal explores the topic with featured guests.
People-Pleasers Guide to Making Comics: Want to be an artist, but afraid of exposing yourself to criticism, critique, or just plain scared that people won't like you? In this workshop with author and artist Veronica Post, we will explore strategies to build resilience, self-compassion and strength so that we can be the authentic artists that we really want to be!
Queer Kisses-Love, Romance and Identity: Cartoonist and magazine editor Olea Kim speaks about all things lovely and messy when it comes to connection and being one’s true self with featured guests.
Teen Titans - Empowering Stories For Young Folks: Moderator and cartoonist Cole Pauls (Kwändǖr) talks about creating stories that resonate with teenagers with featured guests.
What’s on for TCAF 2025
Watch this space! In March, we plan to announce our first round of TCAF 2025 featured guests and programming, and will also share our volunteer application form.
